The DIA7876 is a low-dropout linear regulator designed for battery-direct-connection automotive applications. The device operations with a wide input voltage range from 3 V to 40 V that make DIA7876 a good fit for severe operating conditions including load dump, cold cranking and start-stop. The low-quiescent current and low-dropout voltage allow operations at extremely low-power levels. With only 6 μA ultra-low quiescent current at no load, the DIA7876 is quite suitable for microcontrollers and CAN/LIN transceivers power supply in standby systems. The regulator output current is limited internally, and the device is protected against short-circuit, over-load, and over-temperature conditions. The DIA7876 uses a thermally conductive package to enable sustained operation despite significant dissipation across the device. It is specified over ambient temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, which meets the requirements of automotive applications.
